Student Records

The school maintains complete records including a cumulative academic and guidance record for each student. These records are kept in the school office. All records are treated as strictly confidential and are available only according to the following policy:
- Parents or guardians have the right to inspect and review any and all official records, files and data directly relating to their child, including all material that is incorporated into the student’s cumulative record folder.
- All requests to inspect and review official records shall be made in writing to the administration by the parent or guardian. Such requests shall be honored within one school day following receipt of the request. All records shall be reviewed or inspected in the presence of the child’s teacher or the campus administrator so that proper explanation can be given.
- Parents shall have an opportunity for a hearing with administration to challenge the content of their child’s school records to insure that the records are not inaccurate, misleading or otherwise in violation of the privacy or the rights of the student, and to provide an opportunity for correction or deletion of any such inaccurate or misleading information.
- Students’ personal records or files or any data in those records will not be released without written consent by the parent or guardian to any individual, agency or organization other than the following:
- Staff members of the school who have legitimate educational interest.
- Court or law enforcement officials if the school is given a subpoena or court order.
- Certain federal, state or local authorities performing function allowed by law.
- Officials of a school in which the student intends to enroll.
