Field Trips

The Danville Christian Academy (DCA) considers field trips to be very valuable. A field trip is defined as that which enriches or enhances instruction outside of the classroom.

All field trips must first be approved by the Headmaster or the Assistant Headmaster. Parents will be notified in advance, usually through the newsletter of any field trip and provided a copy of the itinerary by the teacher. A signed permission slip will be sent home for each occasion.

The teacher will need to give the office (secretary) at least one (1) week notice of any field trip and provide the office with a copy of the itinerary in order to secure a duly qualified and licensed bus driver.

The teacher may ask parents and/ or guardians to volunteer to help chaperone students while participating on field trips.

All students and chaperones are strongly encouraged to ride the school bus.

The class or classes using the school bus will bear the cost of the trips. A fee will be charged to all students participating in field trips, regardless if they ride with a parent or on the bus. The Headmaster will develop a fee schedule for special trips based upon the cost of a driver and fuel. Parents will be notified of the fee when permission slips are sent home.
